Kara-Tunga Safari Camp features 7 incredibly appointed safari tents, 6 spectacular en-suite rooms and 4 guestrooms. Each of them has an en-suite bathroom, a nice veranda with camp chairs for unwinding while enjoying the beautiful natural environment, storage space, and an indoor sitting area, with ease access to the incredibly designed lounge area, bar and restaurant.
Kara-Tunga Safari Camp’s safari tents feature King-size beds, en-suite bathroom (with flushing toilet, solar-heated shower and a washing basin), a private veranda and electricity for charge your phone and camera batteries.

Staying at Kara-Tunga Safari Camp provides the unique opportunity of immersing into the unique ways of life, traditions and cultures of the local communities living around Mount Moroto. Learn about their unique homesteads (known as Manyattas), interesting traditional dances, local cuisines and many others.
Game drives
Kara-Tunga Safari Camp guests can undertake game drives in Kidepo valley National Park with hope of sighting some of the most unique wildlife species in Uganda’s wilderness such as cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, Topis, Jackson’s hartebeests, bushbucks, Olive baboons, lions, and many others.

Thanks to Kara-Tunga Safari Camp’s location at the foothills of Mount Moroto, it is possible for guests to climb the highest extinct Volcanic Mountain in the Karamoja sub-region in North-eastern Uganda. The trail is 30 kilometers long and leads to its highest peak at 3083 meters above sea level. You will need two days to ascend/descend this iconic mountain with great views of the sweeping plains on a clear day.
