Nga’ Moru wilderness camp, is a camp situated on a hill in Kidepo Valley National Park overlooking the stunning Narus valley of the spectacular kidepo valley national park located in the northeast part of Uganda. Nga’ Moru Wilderness Camp
The camps name is derived from the local Karamojong people who live around Kidepo the name Nga Moru means “place of rocks or stones” From the camp, one can have best views of the parks wildlife like ostriches not recorded to be in any other park in Uganda except a few in pian upe wild life reserve in south Karamoja.
Nga’Moru is located on a hill, with spectacular views of the Narus Valley and the savannah plains stretching all the way to the Morungole Mountains. They offer a true bush experience in one of the beautiful game parks in Uganda.
Nga’Moru is found at the border of Kidepo Valley National Park that is situated 320 kilometers north of Kampala the capital city of Uganda. You may choose to fly up to Kidepo from the international Airport in Entebbe and in less than Two hours you will be there, alternatively, you may choose to take an exciting drive by using the Gulu to Kitgum road and in 10 hours you will as well be arriving. A number of the wild animals which often visit the camp include: Elephants, Lions, Hyenas, Zebras and Waterbucks.
Nga Moru camp, offers visitors true wildlife experience with three exclusive safari tents which can accommodate maximum of two people in each tent, the tents have wooden raised platform for better views and built in comfortable grass thatched African style of a homestead with two self contained cabanas which can contain about four single beds in each also available.

You will find two “Cabanas” each have its private unique and exclusive view of the stunning Kidepo Valley National Park. The Cabanas can house as many as four single beds. The Prices offered at the lodge are full board not including drinks.

Getting at Nga Moru Wilderness Camp
The park can be reached by both road and air. Driving is rewarding, as much of Karamoja, like Kidepo itself, is a vast and unspoiled wilderness. However, road conditions are sometimes poor and a 4WD vehicle is essential.
There are four possible routes by road as listed below. Optimum driving times are given
Routes passing west of Lake Kyoga through Acholiland
- Kampala – Karuma – Gulu – Kitgum – Kidepo = 571km (10 hours)
- Kampala – Karuma – Lira – Kotido – Kaabong – Kidepo = 705km (12 hours)
Routes passing east of Lake Kyoga through Karamoja
- Kampala – Mbale – Sironko – Moroto – Kotido – Kaabong – Kidepo = 740km (12 hours)
- Kampala – Mbale – Soroti – Moroto – Kotido – Kabong – Kidepo = 792km (13 hours)
The most usual route passes through Gulu and Kitgum Ideally, travellers should plan to stay overnight in one of these towns or at Chobe, near Karuma in Murchison Falls National Park.
Visitors should note that the road mainly in use from Kotido to Kaabong passes via Kanawat not via Losilang as indicated on most maps. Enquire at Kotido for details.
Charter flights to Kidepo may be arranged from Kampala (Kajjansi), Kampala Aeroclub, or Entebbe with Eagle Aviation. Flights take about two hours. The Civil Aviation Authority plans to make Lomej airstrip near Apoka, an international airport to enable visitors to fly direct to Kidepo from other countries.
